Here is also a message of thanks from the Moderator of the United Church of Canada - Rev. Carmen Lansdowne.

"Greetings.

In the United Church’s Song of Faith, we sing of God's good news lived out and of gifts shared for the good of all.
In celebration of National Volunteer Week this April 27th to May 3rd, I want to send a message of profound gratitude to the many of you who live out God’s good news in the world by devoting your time as United Church volunteers. In volunteering we not only find the heart of our call to service, but we embrace a life lived within our wonderful loving community.
Through my term as Moderator over the past nearly three years, I have been greatly touched by the care and joy that each of you show—from those of you who guide our national committees to the countless devoted to shepherding our local communities. On behalf of the whole of the United Church I offer a humble and sincere “Thank You” to each of you for sharing your gifts so generously with us."
