From “Common Prayer: A Liturgy For Ordinary Radicals” (May 24, p. 290-291)

O Lord, let my soul rise up to meet you
as the day rises to meet the sun.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever.  Amen.

Come let us sing to the Lord: let us shout for joy to the rock of our salvation.

Alabare! Alabare!: Alabare a mi Senor!

Psalm 117
Praise the Lord, all you nations: laud him, all you peoples.
For his loving-kindness toward us is great: and the faithfulness of the Lord endures for ever.  Hallelujah!

Alabare! Alabare!: Alabare a mi Senor!

Numbers 24:12-25    Luke 9:37-50

Alabare! Alabare!: Alabare a mi Senor!

Ambrose, a fourth-century bishop of Milan, said, “Yes, a psalm is a blessing on the lips of the people, a hymn in praise of God, the assembly’s homage, a general acclamation, a word that speaks for all, the voice of the church, a confession of faith in song.  It is the voice of complete assent, the joy of freedom, a cry of happiness, the echo of gladness.  It soothes the temper, distracts from care, lightens the burden of sorrow.  Day begins to the music of a psalm.  Day closes to the echo of a psalm.”

Prayers for Others

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Let the moments and the hours of this day reverberate with sounds of singing, with the words of the psalm, and with the praises we offer to you, O Lord.  Amen.

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you,
 wherever he may send you.
May he guide you through the wilderness,
 protect you through the storm.

May he bring you home rejoicing,
at the wonders he has shown you.
May he bring you home rejoicing,
once again into our doors.  Amen
