Today’s prayer was written by Scott Wall from Commons Church in Calgary, Alberta.  It is a prayer titled “For Those Who Search For Peace” and, while it was written in the early days of the pandemic, it’s words lead us to seek God for a peace that seems to be needed even more in our world than it was then.

May God’s blessing be upon you as we pray together today.

For Those Who Search For Peace

We pray for those who search for peace today.
Facing uncertain or needed employment,
doing the work to address past experiences,
carrying restlessness from being overlooked or undervalued,
longing for a sign they are on the right path,
wrestling with a choice that must be made,
experiencing violence and threat to their bodies,
praying with unspoken words.
For strained nerves, weary hearts and troubled minds, we ask …
Loving God, will you be the quiet reassurance and the safety for those who search.
Amen.

With grateful thanks to Commons Church and Bobby Salkeld for granting us permission to incorporate these prayers into our daily devotionals.
