You are invited to come and join in a conversation of where the congregation of St. Stephen's feels God is leading us to next. In the first session on September 8th we tried to answer these questions:
- Why does the church exist?
- What do you think God wants done in the world?
- How do we help God do this?
- When you look at Qualicum Beach, what breaks your heart?
With the answers to these questions in mind, we then re-examined our Mission Statement. The notes from this evening are available in the document below.
In the second session on September 15th we continued to look at our Mission Statement and then re-examined our current Vision Statement, Core Values and Bedrock Beliefs. A second team was commissioned to prayerfully make possible revisions to the Mission Statement.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend this worthwhile process as we work to determine our direction for 2015. The next session will be held on Monday, September 22nd at 6:30pm.
A collection of books has been assembled in the church library on the topic of church visioning and planning. Please feel free to read these books and share what you've learned during these gatherings.
