Journey to a New Life/ Insights into Karen Culture:To mark World Refugee Day, June 20, 2016 and to build understanding of the 8 member Karen Refugee family soon to begin a new life in Qualicum, Qualicum Refugee Sponsorship Group will showcase two highly regarded documentaries: Karen Refugees: Fleeing Burma's Forgotten War (CBC/Icarus Films) and moving to Mars: a million miles from Burma (Coded Pictures/Worldview).
Viewing and discussion will be followed by informal conversation and refreshments. This event is free. All are welcome.
